Use computers as a tool for the job, not to shop on line as a starter. That will reduce the need for several hundred paper pushers. Privatize many of the Government departments. Another few hundred. Modernize the vacation and sickness benefits so staff can no longer take 6 months and carry it forward. Another many hundred as no longer need 2 people for every job. Stop the defined benefit pension plan for new hires. Private sector can’t afford it so why should Government have it?
The list is fairly easy but nothing will be done. Just words and plans to seem like they care.

Why have our roads not been properly resurfaced in years beyond their useful life?

More opened up, hit two with thunks jarring the shock absorbers on weekend. Patching does not work and puts lives in danger.

Government posts lies on their Website. For example, They state” GEHI provides you with premium health care at
Fair rates and claims are processed in a timely manor”. Furthest from the truth! The prices for Doctor’s visits and other things have changed drastically. It is a lot more.
Secondly, the claims being processed are not done for 5, 6 or 7 months. That is called timely??? If you were owed money, you would be hot with anger if someone did this to you. They don’t even give an acknowledgment of receipt. No communication from that department. Have no clue what these people are doing at their desks all day. You don’t produce, you’re out of there. We are really falling apart as a people. Someone help us!

Agree 100% REDUCE THE GOVT and CIVIL SERVICE!!!!
Keeping people on the Govt payroll because we don’t want to have more people on financial assistance is ridiculous! Rip the Band-Aid off and cut the excess! They will find other jobs when they are forced to.

I mean c’mon, are we still paying the conductor of our train that we no longer have just because we can’t leave him without a job?? NO! He’ll find another job when he gets hungry enough. Run the govt like you’d run a successful business! If a business was 7 BILLION IN DEBT, they would cut loose the underperforming and the no longer needed employees. That’s life in the real world.

It’s not rocket surgery! It’s financial prudence with the tax payers’ money!

For starters, a simple suggestion is to cut government staff by 25%. I keep laughing and crying because the government pays six-figure salaries to people who can only do the bare minimum in their jobs but must ask the public or pay for outside consultants for suggestions. Seriously? What an insult to the public.
