At least one school is being repurposed. After the staff and students of Spice Valley Middle School were told the building was not safe for occupation and they were moved to other schools, the good Lt. Col. started renting rooms at Spice Valley Middle School to small businesses.

So does that mean that in supporting West End, you believe that Somerset Primary should be closed instead?

Additionally, where does the OBA stand on potential closures of St George’s Prep and St David’s?

Finally, do they believe that we should maintain all the schools that are open currently, regardless of student population and cost associated with maintaining the physical plants? Where do they stand on education reform overall?

There is a surplus of schools with no need for them in sight. Find another use for them. Reuse them for the baby boomers needing daycare, assisted living, senior homes even.

Keeping schools open with no students makes no sense at all.

Take a look at the articles immediately above from March and April 2023.

We did so after meeting with some of the West End Warriors to hear their legitimate concerns.

Typical OBA…wait to see which way the political wind is blowing and try to follow the winds.
So tell me OBA, if you keep West End open, will you then close Somerset Primary? What will you do in the East?
What exactly is your plan? Or is your plan to (a) speak in support of whatever the government is NOT doing, or (b) find out which community voices are speaking loudest and simply follow them?

At the end of the day difficult choices need to be made, and all people will not be pleased. You cannot be all things to all people.
