Yes, some MPs were elected outside of that economic and ethnic class, but they were in the minority and formed a de facto opposition.

Those who were of the ruling class/ethnicity were still policed though, through economic threats and social ostracism if they sided with the de facto opposition, or otherwise opposed the oligarchy. So, while they may not have had a formal whip, a whip they still had.

No, it is not. How was Bermuda governed before the PLP brought party politics to Bermuda? These independents do not have a party whip hanging over them telling them which way to vote. Independents are not beholden to any party leader.

Sure, they will agree on some issues. They are also free to disagree on issues.

Looks like the political parties, particularly are running scared. They should be.They have been a total failure to Bermuda. Voters are finally starting to wake up.

nothing against Ms Crockwell personally but this is clearly another political party.
Ask the people in Cayman how being governed by Independents has worked out for them.
Heart may be in right place but no no.
