First, the park at the bottom of Dock Hill is treated very differently from, say, Astwood Park or Jobson’s Cove. In fact, all of the parks along North Shore Road in Devonshire and Pembroke are treated differently from the parks on the South Shore in Warwick and Southampton.

Second, our Government has no intention of getting tough on locals. Our Government panders to locals because that is its power base.

Parks, I’m sorry but don’t pretend that you mean business with the annual fluffy threats. Put your foot down! Name , shame and fine! Have those heavily paid ministers back you publicly. Take our parks back and others will not be tempted to continue doing the same selfish @#$! . Two years of tough business will lead to decades where you will once again be respected for what you are paid to do .

I mean if I overstay my welcome and park my legal vehicle 1 minute longer than legally allowed to, I get an instant $75 fine (or clamped) for going over by one minute. But someone INTENTIONALLY PARKS OR ABANDONS a vehicle/boat and they politely ask people to remove. WTF! They always issue a threat of a big fine and Wayne Furbert will make a plea to the owners with more talk of fines or imprisonment but that has NEVER happened!

Let me tell you how this will play out. In a week or two you will see parking tickets placed on the windows of the abandoned cars. Nobody will ever get them, and nobody will pay them. A few weeks after that the tax payer pays for their removal and nobody is ever fined or imprisoned. Parks and Marine & Ports will pay to have these items removed and disposed of and the tax payer will eat the bill. Six months to a year later their will be new vehicles abandoned there.
