They sure as heck DO use it , and a lot. The BWS weather radar is the most visited site on the local internet.
And it’s the ONLY site dedicated to Bermuda with all the detail we need. Other weather sites fall short , I know , I have them all .

As I said in another comment.
1. Perhaps all the people working on this were unavailable for whatever reason: vendor(s) maintenance crew scheduled elsewhere in the world, Bermudian staff on vacation, etc.

2. Perhaps the Bermuda Airport Authority is following the vendor’s recommended maintenance schedule. Ex: changing your car’s oil every 5,000 miles. Why change at 4,000 miles if it is not needed and no mechanic is available?

Perfect timing. Just as the tourist season is getting started when all of the commercial boat operators rely heavily on the dopler radar to see what is coming over the horizon.

What’s new? Probably the most unreliable service unavailable to the general public. Could have done the maintenance during the winter when few boats venture out. As could the road paving unit in the Scaur Hill area who wait till thousands of cruise ship passengers are trying to get to the South Shore beaches. Planning, what planning?
