You often make this assertion but traffic court is usually pretty full, 90% for speeding offences but incredibly 5% or less for drunk driving. The sentencing guidelines which prescribe a 4 year or less prison term for vehicular homicide is manifestly inadequate in my opinion. The fact I have not seen a bike thief in court reporting for years when so many bikes are stolen is unbelievable.

There are no rules of the road anymore. The police stopped enforcing traffic laws more than 20 years ago.

I concur. Youngsters always push boundaries, it is how we learn, I humbly suggest that youths go to the Southside racetrack, borrow a suit and gear and get the urge to see how fast your bike can go out of your system legally in a safer environment prior to riding on the public roads. Visit or talk with one of our many residents living with life changing injuries, ER nurses and doctors and families suffering the loss of a young person for some advice. Then it is up to you as a young person to think before you take risks on these dangerous, unforgiving roads since parents can’t be there at all times to guide you. Please, take personal responsility and ride sensibly and safely.

True words. parents and guardians need to talk to there children about road safety. Police need to going into school and spoke about safety on our roads. Lots of the young ride don’t know the rules of the road. Teacher them rules of the roads and the penalty if you get caught speeding or dangerous riding.
