I saw an old Mobylette just last weekend. It was in pristine condition.

And I remember taking a girl to school more than once as she sat side saddle on my bike.

Has anyone ever been prosecuted for any of the raft of restrictions placed on teenagers a few years ago? There was a curfew of some sort. There was also a banning of riding two up on their 50cc bikes.

Safety they said. HA! How many of us rode around on our Mobylettes with our main squeeze somehow perched SIDEWAYS on the tiny carrier carrying school supplies? No helmets back then.

Can’t remember the last time I’ve seen that. Ask some of the now 70 something year old grandmothers about that one.

“In October I raised the need for an updated Road Safety Plan and other solutions to be implemented.”

Here is an idea, start enforcing the Road Traffic Act again. Put police officers on the street and enforce the existing laws before pontificating on new ways to do things that are currently not being done.
