If the PLP Government is providing housing for the public where do I apply for my free home?

There is no photo of the bathrooms. How much parking to be available 110 car spots, what about visitors. What accommodations have been made for ease of access with Gurney for emergency services?

This all looks a bit jump the gun, geta promise or a plan out quick to appease the population (PLP M.O.) . Has the daycare facility at old Gilbert institute been finished (or even started) yet?

The surest path to the truth in any endeavour is “a complete, evidence-based plan, not one cut short before the analysis is done”. But you have been part of the PLP Government for decades. You were Chief of Staff to Premier Ewart Brown 20 years ago. You know that the truth and PLP politics are incompatible.

The Report identifies the “retail sales rate of inflation” as being “measured at 3.1 per cent in January”. So the PLP Government is capable of identifying and applying an appropriate rate of retail sales inflation when it yields good news, yet remains incapable of reporting an accurate rate of retail sales inflation in Ministerial and Government statements.

So, after 3 years of mature consideration, the determination of the Government is to get a private contractor to do the work.

And then there is the second part, “our Government crews will focus their efforts on preparing the site in St. David’s for the upcoming Swing Bridge project”.

First and foremost, Minister, the Swing Bridge is not in St. David’s. St. David’s is south-east of the Swing Bridge.

Second, it is a damning indictment of the Department of Public Works that it requires all of its field personnel (“our Government crews”) to prepare the site in St. George’s “for the upcoming Swing Bridge project”.

But the PLP Government did sell another 5.9 acres of Bermuda to another foreign corporation for $4,650,000.00, or $825,000.00 per acre.

The PLP Government will subsidise licenced fuel imports for 6 months.

I paid far more per gallon in the USA under Barry & Biden, and then under Biden and what was her name? Oil prices have dropped and will continue to drop. Think how high oil prices would be if Iran, the world’s largest state sponsor of terrorism, whose leaders shouted Death to America for 47 years, detonated a nuke in Seattle, Los Angeles, or San Diego. Or used any of the 900+ pounds of enriched Uranium powder to contaminate NYC’s water supply. Either scenario, and more, are possible.

And before you say Iran does not have long range balistic missles capable of reaching America’s West Coast, missiles can be launched from a ship, like a cargo ship, a few miles off the West Coast. The nuke does not need to be Western weapons-grade efficient, just that it detonates, spreading radiation.

But speaking of the loss of fuel tax revenue. I asked RMI, Bermuda’s go-to green consultants with direct ties to the CCP, in their video conference a while ago, that same question about the Government’s push for EVs in Bermuda. More EVs mean less fuel consumption, which equals lower fuel tax revenue. RMI’s answer was, get this! It is up to the Minister of Finance to figure it out….

Government can do this by reducing the duty on fuel. Great! Where will the shortfall be made up from? What has happened to that much bragged about balanced budget for 26/27? Is the CIT already earmarked for so many other costs, except what it should be used for, the debt, going to pay for it.

Nice ready made excuse for yet another deficit in the budget. Trumps war. No fault of the PLP at all, of course.

The OBA, and others, have asked many valid questions which the promoters of Caricom have tried time after time to deflect. If this is such a great thing for Bermuda, why the deflections, why the silence to straight forward questions to which there should be straight forward answers.

What and why are the PLP trying to hide? Do they not know themselves? Has Caricom sold them a ‘package of goods’ that the PLP has little understanding of? A very real possibility. All Burt and cohorts see is taxpayer funded junkets to the islands.

What does Bermuda really benefit from Caricom that is not being done already without Caricom involvement at all? So far the answer from the PLP has been a huge ZERO, besides the bill which will actually be more like the original $2.8M mark by the time all of the trips are added and, of course, a Bermuda office doing nothing somewhere.

No matter how you look at it Caricom is a scam. A bunch of politicians sitting around doing what the PLP loves to do best. Talk. Talk, talk, talk. Don’t produce results, just talk.
