I do wonder how her kids will grow up knowing that their mother cared more about herself then anything else. Its hard when people say things about your family that are true. All you can do is turn away. I hope someone is helping her kids through this by means of therapy. I could careless what happens to Mrs. Francis, because she clearly is not worring about it. Her children are going to need therapy. Deep therapy.

I knw one of the victims to Ms. Francis crimes and the victim is having a hard time with it all. Its stressful when someone does something to you for no reason. GREED CAN REALLY MAKE YOU DO CRAZY THINGS.

TO ALL THOSE DEFENDING HER ACTIONS YOU ARE JUST AS BAD OR SIMPLY IN DENIAL!

For it to be slander, the statements would have to be both false and damaging. The comments thus far have been neither – simply observations.

With Bermuda being such a small place, ‘name and shame’ could actually be surprisingly effective. Humiliation into reform.

The judge and the papers seem to have short memories…a quick Google search will enlighten you as to additional Wendy classics…check fraud, credit card fraud and the ever classic stealing a Shih Tzu on Christmas Eve…who could forget that one? And the judge let her off easy because ‘she hasn’t done this before’? So what, you get a lower sentence if you don’t commit the EXACT SAME crime twice? SMH

@ The New Bermuda-People are concerned about the dogs because in past cases illegally bred dogs are put down. That would be a shame no matter what breed the dog because they are innocent. FYI most right thinking and law abiding citizens have very little sympathy for people that break the law…so yes, most of the concern is for the puppies…

Wendy definitely needs help. So do her husband and children. Is prison the real answer and will she get the psychological help she needs whle there. Maybe that is why the judge did not give her a custodial sentence. I pray for her husband and children and her parents.

I agree…she is a bad egg and keeps getting a break. When the reward of being dishonest outweighs the penalty, why change, Where is the deterrent?

We keep hearing about changes in the Police Department??? The police are not our biggest problem in my opinion? Time for changes in the court “system” andf with the magistrates! The time rarely fits the crime in ost cases and the fine and punishment are rarely deterents.

Some people here really need to learn the definition of “slander.” The definition of slander is to make a statement that is malicious, false, and/or defamatory. As she pleaded guilty to the offense, what part of people’s remarks are slanderous? Yes, some people have ridiculed her, but that is the price one pays for breaking the law. If she gets it together and cleans up her act, she will no longer have to worry of being the subject of people’s fun for the day. I hope she gets the help she needs….

Now if this girl grows up with no respect for adults, you all will be quick to talk about her, but right now in the present, you have the ammunition to give this young lady (wendy’s daughter) some love, encouraging words. So sad. The youth aren’t the problem, it Bermuda’s older citizen’s way of handling them that are the problem. Stop passing judgement, try seek out the family. Kids right now are without their mother. Where is your compassion and love for one another; have you forgotten that she has children and a husband who will hear about or read these comments! It is bad enough that her actions will cause the spotlight to be upon them, do they need to continue being punished along with her as a result of your comments?
She has done wrong on more than 5 occassions ok so should she rot in jail because of it?
I can go back and say that there was injustice done at the root but we can’t change what is obvious; she needs help, not your slander of her.
I am in no way defending her, what I am saying is that the system has failed to give her and many others the CBT that is needed for them to stop the cycle of abuse.
The system locking these repeat offenders up is a gross waste of tax payers money.
The judges need to impose mandatory clinical therapy sessions as part of their sentence and I am talking about serious focus driven, result proven therapy that allows them to be healed from the inside out.

What is so bad about this whole thread is that not one of us are innocent. In fact just because we haven’t done some of the things Mrs. Francis has done, it does not make us innocent. There is no big or little sin, it’s sin no matter how you dress it and if yours were laid out on the table we would bust the prison wide open.

Please let’s stop killing each other with words and begin to show love and compassion.
