With sadness in our hearts and gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we announce the untimely passing of our beloved Carlos Albert Nathan Tavares, in his 62nd year, of #11 Greenfield Lane, Sandys, MA 03.

Carlos touched many lives with his kindness, charisma, wisdom, and strength. He had an extraordinary ability to make people feel valued and uplifted, and his presence brought

A seven-time Mr Bermuda and chess champion, Carlos approached life with determination and passion. Whether through competition or conversation, he inspired those around him to strive for excellence and live with purpose.

Above all, he was deeply devoted to his daughter, Priscilla, whom he spoke of with immense pride and love. He was a proud grandfather to Lukas and Cruz, and his pride in them was evident to all who knew him. His generosity of spirit and warmth left a lasting impression on all whose lives he touched.

He is survived by his loving daughter, Priscilla-Barbara Wells [Nahki]; his beloved grandchildren, Lukas and Cruz Wells; grandparents, the late Barbara “Ma” and John “Pa” S. Galloway; uncles, the late Phillip “Stickman” Galloway [Jasmine] and the late Myron S. Galloway; mother, Lovette Talbot [Terrence]; father, the late Carlton Robinson; siblings, the late Elvis “Bubba” Tavares, Richard Tavares, Shani Tavares,  Lori Wolffe [Geno], Terrence Talbot Jr., Tori Talbot, Dwayne Hill, Troy “Rick” Hill, and Jennifer Robinson; aunt, Joy Butterfield [Dennis]; nieces and nephews, Trevon Talbot [La’Shaye], Kiera Wolffe, Kitwona Wolffe, Kiundra Wolffe, Deshun Simons, Stephanie Hollis, DawnniQue Simons, Joannon Hendrickson Whitehead, Shakahi Talbot, Shania Tucker-Talbot, Shatyrah Talbot, Sancia Talbot, Richae Wilson, Richena Tavares, Terran Simmons-Talbot, Aariyen Murray, Shanae Outerbridge, and Eugene Outerbridge; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; Moira [Priscilla’s mother]; great-nieces and great-nephews; and countless relatives, friends, and special friends.

He will be fondly remembered by the former Olympic Club family, along with the wider fitness and chess communities, where he shared countless cherished memories.

His family and friends will remember him not only for his achievements, but for his generous heart and enduring spirit.
