It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Derek Oliver Albuoy, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who passed away peacefully on February 24th, 2025, in his 75th year. Derek was a cherished member of the community, known for his kindness, wisdom, and unwavering love for his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife Marie Lynette Albuoy [Rawlins]; two children Dwayne Albuoy [Grissel] and Derreka Lowe [Albuoy], and a host of relatives and friends. He is predeceased by his mother Maybelle [May] Lillian Louise Albuoy and father William Charles A Brown [Sonny].
A memorial service to celebrate Derek’s life will be held on Sunday, March 30th, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the Hamilton Seventh-day Adventist Church, Hamilton, Bermuda. African attire may be worn. There will be no viewing. Interment of ashes will follow the service at Pembroke Parish Cemetery.
