Dorothy Janet Hassell

On behalf of the family, Amis Memorial Chapel regrets to announce the passing of Dorothy Janet Hassell [nee Joell], beloved wife of the late Lionel [Duke] Hassell, daughter of the late Cyril and Edna-Mae Joell [nee Smith].
She was the beloved mother to Anita [Nita], Victor [Cherrie], Ricky [Sally-Ann] and Michael Parris; special children: Angie Farquharson [Derek], Tawanna Wedderburn [Livingston] and Shawnette Miller [Norman]; treasured grandchildren: Dean Parris, Quinell Parris, Sharai Parris, Victor Parris Jr., Christopher Parris, Ricardo Tucker Sr. [deceased] [Mandisa], Ramal Parris [Francine], Tiffany Parris, Ricardo Outerbridge, Rickia Outerbridge and Mikia Parris-Bean; 14 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, in her 93rd year of 60 Friswell’s Hill Road, Devonshire.
Her Celebration of Life will be held at Amis Memorial Chapel, Khyber Pass, Warwick on Sunday, 22nd March, 2026 at 3:00pm. Relatives and friends may pay their last respects at the Chapel from 2:00 – 2:50pm only. Janet also leaves to cherish her memory her sister Berneice [Niecy] Creighton; sisters-in-law: Lorraine Joell and Donna Joell.
She was predeceased by her siblings: Eloise Simmons, Eardley, James [Jimmy], Milton [Gunny], Quinton [Mickey] and Llewellyn Joell. Special friends: The Salvation Army Family, special cousins, the Robinson sisters. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, family and friends too numerous to mention.
