Augustus Funeral Home regrets to announce the passing of: – Melvyn E. Bassett. Ed.D J.P.
A homegoing service for Melvyn E. Bassett Ed.D J.P. of 6 Loyalty Estate, Sandys, in his 78th year will be held at The New Testament Church of God, Heritage Worship Centre, today, June 25, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. He was the son of Carl and Cecily Bassett [nee Joell]. Melvyn was predeceased by the love of his life Sushila [nee Mendis], his parents and his sister Carol Jean Posthlethwaite [Floyd]. He will be lovingly remembered and cherished by his daughter, Rusheika and her husband Pastor Joseph Furbert and his sister Barbara Dillas.
Visitation will be held at The New Testament Church of God, Heritage Worship Centre, today, June 25, 2025 from 12:00 p.m. to 12:50 p.m.
Interment to follow at St. James Cemetery. Colours May be worn.
Lovingly survived by grandchildren: Micaiah, Eli, Eden, Marcus and Isaiah Furbert; nephew and godson Dwayne Dillas, special daughter Darricka [Williams] Furbert [with her husband Bayard, her children and grandchildren]; the Bassett and Joell families, The Calvary Gospel family, CEF Bermuda and International family and numerous other family members, friends and colleagues both local and overseas.
