H. Shirley Barton
August 22, 1926 – August 03, 2017
We, J.E. ‘Rick’ [Mary] Barton and Laurel [Keith] Madeiros, are deeply saddened to announce the home-going of our beloved mother, who passed from this life into Glory seven weeks after the death of her husband and best friend, our father, Bobby.
Mom will be grieved also by her grandchildren – Melissa [Dustin] Deacon, Aaron Barton, Heidi [Paul] Heffernan,
Stacy [Brent] Finchum, Rachael [Andrew] Peters, and Matthew [Paige] Madeiros. Her 23 great-grandchildren gave her much joy, and she eagerly awaited her 24th. Shirley will also be missed by extended family Josephine Young and Maryann Pearce, as well as her special friends Audrey [Tony] Harkness, and Linda DeSilva, Shirley was a faithful member of her church. Her absence will not go unnnoticed.
She was predeceased by three siblings – Raymond, Robert, and Harold [Hap], and is survived by her sister, Rita,
many dear nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Respects can be paid at Amis Memorial Chapel on Saturday, August 12, 2017 from 7:30-9:00 p.m.
A memorial service to celebrate Shirley’s life of 90 years will be held at The Evangelical Church of Bermuda, 1 Mission Road, Paget on Sunday, August 13, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. Interment to follow at St. Paul’s Cemetery.
