Augustus Funeral Home regrets to announce the passing of District Elder Jairus MacDonald Landy.
A Homegoing service celebrating the life of District Elder Jairus Mac Donald Landy, beloved husband of Dr. Nathley Landy, and cherished father of Jaynelle Landy and Michael Landy [Shallette], son of the late Henry Symonds and the late Rhoda Landy, will be held at Beulah Tabernacle on Saturday, October 25, 2025, 2:00 PM. There will also be a viewing before the service from 1:00 PM to 1:55 PM at the church, Interment will follow at St. Mark’s Church Cemetery.
Elder Landy is lovingly remembered by his sister, Elah Raynor [the late Cyril], Clyde Symonds and his sisters-in-laws, Elder Melita Landy and Dollene Ray. He was predeceased by his siblings: Elder Andrew Landy, Esther Santucci, Minister Mary Ebbin, Rev. Ruth Hayward, Deaconess Pheobe Landy, Margaret Hunt, George Ray, Stanley Ray, Hillgrove Ray Henry Sinclair Symonds [Hyacinth].
Elder Landy is survived by a beloved group of nieces and nephews: Cyrelah Somner [Tareek], Dr. Jewel Landy, Apostle Lynn Landy [Pastor Laquita], Almira DeShields [Pastor Devon], Elder Daniel Hayward [Antionette], Bishop Patrick Hayward [Socorro], Howard Hayward, Charles Hayward [deceased], Naomi Fox, Norris Ebbin [Susan], Pastor Arthur Ebbin, Jr. [Laveta], Elder Stephen Ebbin [Dawnika], Alpheus Santucci [Cislyn], Eunice Lambert, Lois Richardson, Malcolm Santucci, the late Henry Santucci, Rev. Allan Hunt [Midred], Marsha Emery, Jennifer Wilson [Steven], Colin Hunte, Michael Ray [Elizabeth], Bette-Jean Bertram [Horace], Lisa-Anne Ray-Byers [Stafford], Sharon Gomes, Leonard Cann [Kay], the late Vernon Symonds Myron Symonds, Bucky Symonds, Troy Symonds and well as numerous other relatives, great nieces and nephews.
