John Francis Nicholls
[Bulley-Graham-Rawlins Funeral Home & Cremation Services]
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John Francis Nicholls, 59, of Warwick. John was the beloved son of the late Trevor and Gillian Nicholls and is survived by his sister Liz [Elizabeth] as well as other family and close friends in Bermuda and around the world.
Born and raised in Bermuda, John travelled extensively, including a 1992 circumnavigation of the world. He was an avid outdoorsman and well-known local sailor. He was a long-time skipper of the Bermuda Fitted Dinghy, Elizabeth II, and is the immediate past commodore of the Royal Hamilton Amateur Dinghy Club. His connections spread far and wide across the Bermuda community and beyond; he will be missed and remembered by many.
A Memorial service will be held at St. Paul’s Church in Paget on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at 3:30 pm. Following this service, you are invited to the Royal Hamilton Amateur Dinghy Club [RHADC] from 5:00 pm to celebrate John’s life. For attire, we encourage a splash of red and blue to honour his life-long support of Somerset. The Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be livestreamed by JROC Communications on their YouTube channel [YouTube.com/jrocbda].
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in John’s name to Endeavour, Bermuda-registered charity #977, Mailing address: Endeavour, c/o Wakefield Quin, Victoria Place, 31 Victoria Street, Hamilton HM10, or via direct deposit to The Bank of N.T. Butterfield and Son Limited, Account number: BMD 060 1636360 012.
