Augustus Funeral Home regrets to announce the passing of: – Lois Dorothea Mildred Simons [“Teacher Simons”].
A homegoing service celebrating the life of Lois Dorothea Mildred Simons [nee Hayward], loving wife of the late Gary Simons, father to Sheri [deceased], Edwin and Devona Simons, Kineta Fox [Kenneth] and Rosina Bala [Rajendra], the beloved daughter of late Mark and Traves Hayward [nee Saltus], sister to Edith Thomas, Olive Butterfield, Jennifer Dill [Reginald], Walter, Collin and Vernon Hayward [predeceased by Julie Virgil, Linda Bennett, Ann Ming, Vincent, Winslow, Charles and David Hayward], in her 77th year of 72 Happy Valley Road, Devonshire, will be held at The Salvation Army North Street Citadel on Sunday, November 16th, 2025, at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow at the Methodist Cemetery. Viewing to be held at Augustus Funeral Home, Today, November 15, 2025, from 6:30pm – 8pm. Then at The North Street Citadel November 16th from 1:20pm to 1:50pm.
Loving survived by: Grandson Kenneth Fox III, granddaughters Raina Bala and Kennedy Fox. Godchild: Regina Abrahams. Brother-in-laws: Floyd Ming, Franklyn, Oliver and Clinton Simons. Sisters-in-law: Gloria-Jean Hayward, Marietta and Margaret Simons. A host of other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
Predeceased by Grandma Olive Furbert. Special thanks to the Doctors and Nurses at The King Edward Memorial Hospital, Lahey Hospital, Agape House and PALs for their support. Colors can be worn.
