Amis Memorial Chapel Funeral Home regrets to announce the passing of Nelson Chesterfield [Cap] Simons of Woodstock, 36 Riviera Road, Southampton, in his 92nd year. In light of this a Celebration of Life Service will be held, Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 11.00 am at St Mark’s Anglican Church, Smith.
Nelson is the beloved husband of the late Maude Elizabeth Simons; beloved father of N. H. Cole Simons JP [Rochelle], Raoul Simons [Cheryl], Delbert Doars [Heather]. He is the beloved grandfather of Morgan Santos Correia [Eduardo], Ava Pit- Simons [Quincy], Erin Stovell [Joshun], Shandel and Delbert Doars Jr. In addition, he is also the great grandfather of Eli and Winston Stovell, Enzo Doars and Francisca Santos Correia. He will be dearly missed by his caregiver Barbara Hollis. He is predeceased by his parents, Ernest and Octavia Simons nee Paynter, of Ten Palms, South Road, Warwick. He was also predeceased by his brother, Richard [Rip] Simons, sisters-in-law Alida James and Mary Dubois. He is survived by his sister Ms. Heather Musson, niece Ms. Sonia Whitter and family, and a host of relatives too numerous to list.
In addition, he is survived by his close friends; Col. Edward Lamb, Dr. Thomas and Julie Moore, Edgar Burrows, Stanley and Syl Thomas, Germaine Trott, Orville Murray, the extended the South Shore, Warwick families, the Coral Reef Rifle and Pistol Club family, the Blue Water Angler’s Club family, and the Nights of the Round Table family.
