[AMIS Memorial Chapel & Crematory]

The world became a little quieter with less laughter on December 11, 2023 when Richard “Rich” Schneider began his eternal rest. Rich was a beloved son, husband, brother, uncle, step-father, friend, colleague and a helping hand when needed. Rich was a mentor to many and a friend to all. If you crossed his path, you couldn’t help but be entertained and feel a little special. His love for life impacted everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Rich was born on April 26, 1957 to Robert [Bob] and Margaret [Peg] Schneider in East Lansing, Michigan. As a young man, he moved to the beautiful island of Bermuda where he felt privileged to spend the last 36 years working in the food industry. Rich was an avid sports enthusiast and enjoyed the great outdoors. He loved to spend his free time golfing, skiing, cycling, rowing and playing lacrosse, at one time for Bermuda’s National team. Rich had a passion for travel and was proud to have visited each of the United States, the Caribbean, Europe, Asia and Africa, most recently on safari in Kenya.

Surviving Rich is his mother, Peg; wife, Christine; step children, James [Sofia] and Danielle [David, sons Ben and Cameron]; brothers, Bob [AnnMarie]; Bill; Tom [Michelle]; nieces Carly [Jeff]; Jordan; and nephews, Grady and Casey. Rich was a family man to the core and adored every member of his family deeply. Rich also was blessed with a host of wonderful friends with whom he maintained steady contact throughout the years and across the miles.

A homegoing service for Rich will take place at 1:30pm on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at St. Paul’s Church, 108 Middle Rd, Paget, Bermuda, to celebrate his life. Colourful clothes are welcome, if not encouraged. Rich’s favourite colour was green.

For Rich’s family and friends in the United States, a service will be held in East Lansing, MI. Further details to be announced.

Memorial contributions may be made in Rich’s honour to the Salvation Army Homeless Ministry [HSBC 010-202-539-001].
