Mc Neil was the son of the late Gerald Alexander and Eleanor Gertrude [Tucker] Simmons. He was the devoted father of Sommer Simmons and the proud grandfather of Nazarai Fox. Homegoing services for Rufus Alexander McNeil Simmons will be held on Monday, October 13th, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul AME Church, Court and Victoria Street, Hamilton.
Last respects may be paid at AMIS Memorial Chapel, Khyber Pass Warwick, Sunday October 12th, 2025, from 6 – 7:30 p.m. only
McNeil leaves to mourn his siblings Cheryl-Ann Griffin [Danny], Charles-Etta Simmons [The late Dr. Femi Bada], Jennifer Page [Robert], Orlando Simmons [Dianne] and Shawn Williams [Leon]. He will be missed by his Uncle and Aunt, Clyde and Alethea Tucker and Aunt Frances ‘Betty’ Butterfield, his Special Cousin Andre Williams, Special Goddaughter Stacey Wainwright, Nieces and Nephews Zina Tucker, Desha Bert, Erinn Hayward, Shann Griffin , Taaj Jamal, Dr. Shawnee Basden, Jalen Simmons, James ‘EJ’ Burrows, Leonard Williams, Cousins The Adams, Tuckers, Smiths, Simmons families, Friends Winfield Goater, Wayne Holder, Sinclair Woodley, Fred Butterfield, Roy Kirby of Burlington , Ontario, The Husbands Family of Toronto, Ontario, Princess Estates neighbours, The Second Spring Bowling League, Ocean View Golf Club, Mid Atlantic Boat Club, friends and associates in Bermuda, Canada and The United States. Rufus Alexander McNeil Simmons was predeceased by his brother Treadwell Tucker and his nephew Chaz Basden.
