Valencia May Virgil-Manning
It is with hearts full of love that we share that the celebration of life for Valencia May Virgil-Manning, devoted wife of the late Cecil Manning, of Goldsboro, North Carolina [formerly of Bermuda] in her 94th year, loving mother of her late sons Neville and Neil Virgil & Bryan “Bobby” Manning, will be held on Thursday, May 1st, 2025 at the Howell Funeral Chapel, 1500 Wayne Memorial Dr, Goldsboro, NC 27534, USA at 1:00pm.
Visitation will be from 12:00 pm to 1:00pm. Interment will follow immediately after the service at Wayne Memorial Park, 2925 US Highway 117 S, Goldsboro NC 28333. Valencia loved spring-inspired colors, but specifically pink and lavender.
Valencia is lovingly survived by her grandchildren, O’Brian Roberts, Mark Anderson, Jill, Jodi [Allan], and Nikia Virgil, Rickia Williams, Neil Phillips, Lanell Davis & Mark Tankard; nine great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren; sister Beverly Hunt Robinson Baldwin; daughter-in-law Phyllis Virgil; special nieces and nephew Jo-Ann [Dennis] Fox, Eva-Jean Smith, and Brent Smith; special cousins [Bermuda and US] Patricia [Clifford, deceased] Wade [nee Hazel], Mearl [Jim, deceased] Jones, and numerous beloved maternal and paternal nieces and nephews; extended families the Hazel, Hunt, Sharpe, Horton, Callendar, Williams, Bremar, Taylor, Richardson, Simmons, Faries, Smith, Tucker, Stowe and Brangman families [Bermuda]; the Parks, Fisher, Davis, Taylor, Smith, Sutton, Bizzell, Reed, Ashford, Pickett, Dilehay, Brewington, Whitfield, Kornegay, Best, Dawson, Brink, and Person [Gary] families [US]; special friendships Dorothy Brown and Corrine Trott [Bermuda], Linda P. Fisher [US], and numerous other beloved friends.
Our beloved Valencia May was pre-deceased by parents Myrtle Woolridge [nee Hazel] and Alma “Champ” Hunt Sr.; special mother Louise Virgil; stepfather Oscar E. Sharpe; daughter-in-law Lois Virgil; grandson Neville Virgil Jr.; siblings Ormond, Coleridge, Leta, Ginevra and Ermine-Turney Sharpe, Marion Smith, Alma Hunt Jr., and Marion Proctor-Simmons and numerous beloved aunts, uncles and cousins.
As a family, we thank everyone for your prayers, cards, calls and support. We greatly appreciate you.
