A Homegoing Service celebrating the life of Mr. Boyd Ethelbert Smith of “Morning Side”, 17 Cherry Dale, Knapton Hill, Smith’s Parish FL 08, in his 96th year, son of the late Seward Ethelbert, Sr. and late Albertha Irene [Fleming] Smith, beloved husband to the late Moria Josephine Smith, loving father of Marva A. Bridgewater J.P. [late Victor], Dawn Y. Darrell [Clyde], C. Waverley Minors [Vincent], Troy Anderson [Olga] and the late Charles Wendell Leverock, will be held at Bethel A.M.E. Church, Shelly Bay, Hamilton Parish, Today, July 8, 2023 at 2:00 p.m.
Interment will follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery, Hamilton Parish.
There will be no viewing.
Boyd is lovingly survived by grandchildren: Craig [Monique], Kyle, Zalika, Eric [Kornelia], Katrina [Nathan], Clyde Jr. [Lisa], Vincent [VJ] [Felicia], Antoine [Jessica], Jovon, Troy Jr. Nicole, Arshaun, Natalea, Jaiden; great grandchildren: Myah, Celeigh, late Menelek, Jahmali, Makeda, Nazarah, Moriah, Kyrah, Marcus, Devon, Zahmya, Eric-Kailai, Esaias, Josiah, Anaiah, Aaria, Aiden, Jasiri, Gatwoine, Karis, Antoine Jr., Naomi; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends; special friends: Jean Rowling, Lionel Sr. and Anthony Raynor and families; sister-in-law: Helene Bean [Llewellyn], Earlston Phipps and Phipps family; Boyd was a member of several organizations. Boyd was predeceased by his brothers: Wilfred, Seward Jr. [Marion], Gwyn; sisters: Ena, Hilary [William], Vinton [Wilmount, Leroy]; son: C. Wendell; grandson: Menelek; brothers and sisters-in-law.
