With heavy hearts, we regret to announce the passing of Mr. Samuel Kenneth Richard Paynter
A homegoing services for Mr. Samuel Kenneth Richard Paynter loving father to Calvin Paynter, Ethlyn Jacobs [Robert], and David Paynter. Beloved grandfather to TerryLynn Paynter [Valeria], Harold Young Jr, Nicole Young, Stacey O’Brien, Robert Jacobs, George O’Brien Jr., Brian Jacobs, and Daynisha Paynter Special Grandchildren: Michelle Durity and Julia O’Brien; in his 97th year 2026, of 4 Sofar Drive, St. George’s [St. David’s] will be held at Glory Temple Church, Southside – St. David’s on Monday, April 13th, 2026, at 3:00pm. Visitation will be held at St. Peter’s Church Hall – St. George’s on Sunday April 12, 2026 from 6:00pm to 8:30pm and on April 13, 2026 at Glory Temple Church, Southside – St. David’s 2:00pm to 2:50pm Internment to follow at St. Peter’s Church Cemetery, St. George’s.
A cherished family man and a proud Cup Match hero, Mr. Samuel Paynter was also a loving greatgrandfather, uncle, and friend, whose life and legacy will be fondly remembered by all who knew him. He was predeceased by his beloved parents, Mr. John and Primrose Paynter [nee Pearson]; his devoted wife, Gloria Ethlian Paynter [nee Tucker]; his children, John [Buddie] Paynter and Orial O’Brien; and his siblings: Lilian Paynter, Greta Paynter, H. Dorothy Paynter, Weneta Foggo [nee Paynter], Rupert Paynter, Ernest Paynter Sr., Gordon Paynter, and George Paynter.
He leaves to mourn his along with greatgrandchildren: Alnique Young Looby, Nakeah Simons, Isaiah O’Brien, Jada O’Brien, Adaj O’Brien, Nhasyr Paynter, and Nhyeri Paynter. Numerous nieces and nephews. Special Friends: Mrs. Orlene Foggo & Family, LT. Col. Edward Lambe, Mr. Veron & Heather Foggo, Mr. Perry Fox, Kathy Pitcher, The Sofar Family, The Anderson, The Cup Match Legends, The Travel Crew, The Breakfast Crew and the St. David’s & St. George’s Community
