Augustus Funeral Home regrets to announce the death of Mr. Eugene Arthur [Poker] Smith, beloved son of the late Freeman Sinclair and Mary Etheline Smith, father of Brenda Jean Smith, Kandi White [Morris], the late Quincy Scott and sister of Margaret E. Robinson in his 79th year of Lefroy House, formerly of #143 North Shore Pembroke will be held at St. John’s Church Pembroke Today, March 15, 2016 at 3:30 p.m.

Interment will be at St. John’s Church Cemetery, Pembroke.

Relatives and friends may pay their last respects at Augustus Funeral Home Today, March 15, 2016 from 2:15 – 3:15 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Friends of Lefroy House Association, c/o Lefroy House, 7 Heydon Rd. Sandys, MA 01 or by direct deposit to HSBC Bank Bermuda account # 004-015772-011.

Also surviving are grandchildren: Amber and Tristan White, Mikaela Smith, and Kasiya Francis; nieces: Ethel Liverpool, Debbie Trott, Sheena Smith [Antonio], Alika Smith, Tracey Glasker, Paula Hampton [Marcus], Marshallene Iris [Harry], Kay Williams [Regneald] and Leander Smith; nephews: Gregory [Kenlyn], Stephen and Leslie [Sheri] Smith; great nieces: Racquel Liverpool, Aaliyah Outerbridge and Aiyana Smith; great nephews: Aaron Liverpool, Irving Jr. and Ethan Outerbridge, Korey Glasker; great great nephew: Mason Dana; nephew-in-law: Irving Sr. and other great nieces and nephews too numerous to mention; sisters-in-law: Marilyn Smith and Shirley Smith; special cousins: Shirley Brangman, Ivy Smith and Joan Fostine DeSilva; mothers of his children Brenda Mungal and Joan Scott; goddaughter: Tarita Hall; special friends: St. Monica’s Church family, Lefroy House staff and caregivers, Morris [Chalk] Thomas, Leonard Greaves, and Raymond Baxter.

Eugene was predeceased by brothers: Charles [Molly] Smith and Freeman James Smith Sr., niece: Shernelle Outerbridge; nephews: Freeman James Smith Jr. and Clifton Smith, nephew-in-law: Daniel Trott; Longtime friends: Winston [Churchill] Hall, Albert [Moose] Franks, Lloyd Grimes, Edward [Spanky] Albouy, Wendell Bassett, Russell Leverock, Rupert [Potts] Archibald and Leonard [Chick] Butterfield.
