Augustus Funeral Home regrets to announce the passing of Gary E.E. Smith of 25 Burnt House Hill, Warwick. Gary E.E. Smith, beloved husband to Sylvia Smith, son of the late Emily Simmons [nee Smith] and Clermont “Kiggie” Joell, is survived by his loving family: his children, Anastasia Burgess [Andre] and Athanasius Smith [Sherika]; grandchildren, Tristan Smith [Ebone], Lilly Smith, Noah Smith, and Ella Smith; siblings, Joan Dill, Colin Simmons, Sinclair Anthony Simmons, Clermont “Duke” Joell [Jean], Edward Burrows [Carol Ann], La Verne Stevenson [Brian], Madrienne Quarles [Charles], Deen Johnston [Cornelius]; and special sister, Cathy Stevens.
He is also lovingly remembered by his special cousin, Brenda Phillips, and special friend, Barrington Montague. Gary is also survived by his stepchildren, Gregory Wilson [Lorna] and Angela Somner [Robert].
He was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Carol V. Smith [nee Lawrence]; his sister, Paula Smith; his brother, Cecil Simmons; his sister, Murita Joell and special friend Bertram Guishard. A homegoing service will be held at Crawl Gospel Hall Church on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at 1:00 pm.
Interment will follow at St. John’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Augustus Funeral Home today, July 2, 2024 from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm.
