Augustus Funeral Home regrets to announce the passing of Germaine Lavon Hollis, loving husband to Vernita Hollis, cherished son of Carol Walker and the late Wayne Hollis Sr. [Carroll Hollis]; devoted father to Tahjae and Taijhaun Hollis; grandfather to Xiaje Raynor; brother to the late James ‘Jimmy’ Hollis, Carol Gift [Terence], Paulette Rubaine [Lorin], W. Michael Hollis Jr. [Ilyn] and Waynette Hollis; special brother Jason Smith [Tenik], in his 55th year of 157 North Shore Road, Pembroke, will be held at Holy Trinity Church, Today, January 8, 2026 at 11:00 a.m.
There will be no viewing.
Interment to follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery.
Germaine is lovingly survived by: aunts: Verna Hollis-Smith [Michael]; great-aunts: Ida Browne, Carolyn Walker and Lily Walker; special uncle: Anthony Darrell [Kim]; uncles: Gregory Darrell, Vernon Hollis Jr., Ellsworth Mateen and Tony Outerbridge; parents-in-law: Vernon and Melva Paynter; brother-in-law: Quincy Paynter [Patrina]; and countless nieces, nephews and cousins too numerous to mention.
Special Family and Friends: The Paynter Family, The Smith Family, The Walker Family, The Grant Family, The Bean Family, Bermuda District Grand Lodge, Royal Bermuda Regiment, and Leopards’ Club Family; and a wide circle of extended family, honorary family, and dear friends too numerous to mention.
Germaine Lavon Hollis was predeceased by his grandparents: the late Vernon and Vianthee Hollis and the late Hyacinth Stovell; aunts: the late Carol-Ann Simpson, and the late Nadine Iris; and uncle: the late Terry Darrell.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who were blessed to know and love him. Colors may be worn.
