It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Gloria Ann Delores Harris.
Gloria was dearly loved as a mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, mother-in-law, sister-in-law and friend, who touched many lives in a special way during her journey on this realm.
In her 81st year, we will celebrate her life on Thursday, 31st October at the Southampton Seventh-Day Adventist Church at 1:30 p.m. Relatives and friends may pay their last respects at Seventh-Day-Adventist Church, today from 12:30 p.m. to 1:25 p.m. Interment will follow at Pembroke Parish Cemetery.
Gloria was the daughter of the late Isabelle Louise Harris and the late Edmund “Sonny” Young, and mother to Deborah, Frankie, Meladene, and Brenton Harris, and Sonya Clarke [Herron]. She was “granny” to Janeene Mills [Jessie] Soniko Thomas [Kara], Ashley, Frankco, Chyone, Chyann, and Josiah Stewart Harris; Shakir, Taveo, Meliqua, Khamisi, and LaVonte Lightbourne, Kinneeko Beek, and Troy Fox,Jr great grandmother to Keyni and Kammi Mills, Kesi Broadbelt, Khamori Lightbourne and Aston Thomas. She will be fondly remembered by her sisters and brothers, Helen Burrows, Sharon Scott [Wayne], Linda Harris, Leonie Rutherford [Patrick], Hastings, Robert and David Harris, Colin Washington [Julia], and Georgia Burgess. Special nieces, Betty Ann Morgan, Geraldine Watson and special great niece, Cheryl-Jean Swan [Carlyle]; other nieces, Brenda Harris-Burchall, Valerie Grant, Debra Grant-Jarmon, Gail Harris, Geraldgene Cann [Victor], Aneesha Simmons, Collice Morris [Paul], Mercedes Rutherford, Cindy Burgess, and Chanae Caines. Special nephew, Harry Grant [Jackie]; other nephews, Kotoni Simmons [Kenlyn], Dion Watson [Amanda], Wayne, Kent, and Jason Harris, Pastor Shayne Scott [Vanessa] and Shannon Scott, Andre, Nathanial and Julian Washington, Wayne Burgess, and other great and great, great nieces and nephews.Gloria will also be fondly remembered by her cousins: Pearl Codrington and family, and the families of the late Margaret Smith and Dorothy Best; her special close friends: Connie Edness, Margaret Dillas, Joyce Mattox [Atlanta], Barbara Minks-Smith, and Del and Lynette Joseph; and her God-daughter, Joanne Stevenson. Gloria is predeceased by her life-long partner Walter “Sammy Dick” Joell, grandmother, Jane Elizabeth Tucker; uncle, Thomas “Tom” Tucker, sisters Lucille Crocker [David], Grace Simmons [Quinton], niece Pamela Harris, and nephews Mark Grant, Brian Burgess and Anthony Douglas, and special friend, Lucy “Aunt Babes” Landy.

In honor of our beloved mother Ms. Gloria Ann Harris, Sensational Delights Restaurant, will be closed on Thursday, October 31, 2024, as we pay our respects and celebrate her life.
