Augustus Funeral Home regrets to announce the death of Idabelle Marie Simmons.
A home-going service for Idabelle Marie Simmons, mother to Zoleta B. Smith, sister to Audrey Tucker [USA], Marguerite Leavitt [USA] and Oliver Simmons, in her 92nd year, formerly of Harrington Hundreds, Smith’s, will be held at Vernon Temple A.M.E. Church, Southampton, on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held at Augustus Funeral Home on Friday, April 11, 2025, from 6:30 pm to 8pm and at Vernon Temple A.M.E. Church from 10:00 a.m. to 10:55 am on Saturday, April 12, 2025.
Interment will follow at St. Anne’s Church Cemetery, Church Road, Southampton.
Lovingly survived by granddaughter Kiera Smith, great-grandson Addis Smith, sister-in-law Phyllis Simmons; nieces Elsa Rucker [USA], Alona Dandridge, Brenda Rasheed, Sandra Everheart [USA], Kimberly Campbell, Marie Nimrod, Karen Lawrence [USA] and their families; nephews: Clinton, Delbert, Ondray [USA], Antonio [USA], Blaire and Jamel Simmons, Todd [USA] and Charles [USA] Lawrence and their families; great-niece: Sydney Tavares; great-nephew: Sidkai Tavares; Shawn C. Simmons; cousins: Zuill, Wade, Simmons, Lambert, Outerbridge and their families; numerous other relatives and friends. Idabelle was predeceased by her parents Lucetta and Capt. Cecil Simmons, her granddaughter Shellée Smith, nieces: Lynn Simmons, Rochelle Simmons, Sonya Tavares; great-nephew: Justin Simmons, Goddaughter: Princess Coleman-Walker [USA] and numerous other relatives and friends.
