Augustus Funeral Home regrets to announce the passing of: – Iris Louise Smith nee Davis.
A homegoing service for Iris Louise Smith nee Davis who was the daughter of the late Cecil Davis and Robert Williams, wife of the late Bentley [Peter] Smith, cherished mother to Andrea J. Peets [Franklyn], Robin Smith [deceased], and Dennison Smith [deceased] and special son Kirk Peets [Donna], sister of the late Cora Fox-Renault [Son and Chuck], Sharon “Tookie” Simons [McNeil], and the late Randall “Slow” Davis [Jeanette], will be held at St. Mark’s Church, today, January 29, 2024 at 11:00 am.
Interment will follow at St. Mark’s Cemetery.
There will be no viewing.
Iris Smith was a devoted Nana to the late Keevin Peets [Carla], Aqila Robinson, Dr. Ayesha Peets Talbot [Khomeini], Dr. Annisha J. Peets (Dejon), and Dekimo Martin [deceased], and stepmother of the late Gladwin Woods, Sharon Doars, and Angela Harvey. Iris was a loving Great-Grandmother to Farzaana Carey, Sanaa Martin, Zyon Peets, Zyori Peets, Kameela Talbot, LoNahjéTota, Zynai Peets, Yara Talbot, Imani Talbot, and Ahsai Cox. Iris leaves nephews Wayne Fox, Leo Fox [deceased], Denton Simons [Cindy], Mark Simons [Shameela], Paul Simons [Doda], and Keith Davis; Nieces Sheena Notter [René], Ranell Minors [Allen], Michelle DeSilva [Don], and Camille Hayward [Dean]; Godchildren Michelle DeSilva, Leola Wade, and Lewanda Morrissey; Special Friends Helene Benjamin, Lynn Smith, Charmaine Richardson, and Andrea Sewell; friends that have passed on before her, her Davis and Smith families, her Grace Rejuvenation Day Care extended family, Uppington Crescent neighboring families, and numerous others.
