James William Chesterfield Edness
A celebration of life and home going service for James William Chesterfield Edness, formerly of Friswell’s Hill, Bermuda and Bronx, NY, USA, son of the late Ruth Emily Edness [nee Browne] and Samuel Chesterfield Edness, in his 90th year will be held at the Evening Light Pentecostal Church, 44 Parsons Road, Pembroke on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at 11:00.
There will be no viewing.
Interment will follow at St John’s Church, Pembroke Cemetery.
He leaves to mourn nephews, Anthony [Lynne] and Derek [Joan], special niece, Andrea Wade, nieces Deanna [Sarah] and Laurie Wade, great nephews and nieces, great-great nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by sister Eula-Lee Wade [nee Edness], niece Annette Wade and many long-time friends in Bermuda and abroad. Numerous relatives and friends in the Caribbean and in the USA also mourn his passing.
Special mention to his lifelong friend Edmund ‘Lefty’ Berkeley, friends Keithly Matthews and family; friends Donald Meyers, Alex Degraaf, Donald Rose, Joan Rodriguez, Pat Nelson, Roni Birkett [all of the US] Secor Boston Rain Center, Bronx, NY, and with thanks to Arnell Liburd Farrell for her assistance at his home in recent years.
The family also wishes to acknowledge the professional care received from DaVita Kidney Center, Bronx, NY., House of Hills Funeral Home, Brooklyn, NY., and D.H Augustus and Sons Funeral Home, Bermuda.
