A homegoing service for Joseph Sinclair Richards JP, former Chief Education Officer, beloved husband of Gilda B. M. Richards [nee Burrows]. Son of the late Samuel and Susan [nee Basden] Richards. Son-in-law to the late K. Parke and Elsie Burrows. Loving father of Melody Parris [Roger], Esther Singh [Krishna], Joy Richards and the late Terrence Richards [Kalmar]. Brother to Arthur Richards [late Gloria], Clyde “Will” Richards [Shirley] and predeceased siblings S. Llewelyn “Hookie” Richards [Kathleen], Marva Caines [Arthur “Pointy”], T. “Lois” Bean [late Winfield], Loma Simons [Maxwell “Mackie”], Beverly Harvey, J. “Anita” Thompson and Meredith Perinchief; in-law to Gail Furbert [late Randy], Kenneth Burrows [late Nitraporn], the late Woodrow Burrows, and Betty Wellman, in his 92nd year of #22 East Shore Lane, Sandys, will be held at Mount Zion AME Church, Mount Zion Lane, Southampton, today, February 6, 2024 at 2pm.
Interment will follow at Emmanuel Methodist Cemetery, Southampton.
Visitation will be held at St. Paul’s Centennial Hall, Monday, February 5, 2024 from 5:30pm to 7:00pm. Also at Mount Zion AME Church Tuesday, February 6, 2024 from 1:00pm to 1:50pm.
Service will be live streamed via www.twitch.tv/jroctv2000 and Mt. Zion AME’s Facebook Page and Youtube channel. J. Sinclair Richards is also lovingly remembered by grandchildren Temar Richards, Dunae Richards, Danielle Williams [Kiwon], Ryan Parris, Krista Singh, Kristian Singh and Dayla Richards. Great grand-daughter Dallas Richards. Godchildren Woodren Burrows and Joanne Simmons [Wayne]. Other family and friends too numerous to mention.
