We are saddened to share the passing of Myra Claudette Muhammad [Simmons] nee Kipps, beloved mother of Roderick Simmons Jr., Shanda Simmons, Shawnette Simmons-Smith and Bakeer Simmons in her 85th year of 36 Bob’s Valley Lane Sandys, formally of 13 Acacia Lane, Sandys.
A Janazah, The Muslim Prayer Service was held on Sunday, October 30, 2022, at Amis Memorial Chapel, Warwick followed by her burial in the Muslim Graveyard, Ferry Reach, St. George’s.
Along with her children Myra will be forever loved and cherished by her grandchildren Ronika Simmons, Crystal Lyn-Simmons [Roxy], Ronee Simmons, Tariq Brown, Gilat Smith, Kareemah Simmons, Latifa Smith, Hasan Simmons, Nebia Chism, Vashti Smith, Roneeyah Jones, Keren Smith, Jamya Chism, Kyalah Butterfield and Malik Simmons, great-grandchildren Qahhaaru Mack and Aniela Simons, brother Alan Shakir, son-in-law Joseph Smith, daughter-in-law, Marcia Blackman, special daughter-in-law, Troyshea Butterfield, sisters-in-law Leonie Shakir, Vivienne Kipps and Audrey Kipps, nephews Eugene Simmons, George Shakir and Gaerich Kipps, nieces Shelley Kipps-Tucker, Juanita Darrell, Roxanne Kipps-Jackson, Alana Shakir, Allison Swan, Jessica Shakir-Barritt, Lindsey Kipps-Gibbons, Suzanne Khan and Taliah Shakir, great grand puppies King and Sly, godchildren, family and friends both locally and abroad.
Myra was predeceased by her parents George and Suzanne Kipps, siblings, Jessie Simmons, Rudolph Kipps, Brenda Pearman and special niece Rhonda Simmons.
The family would like to give a special thank you to all the staff of the dialysis unit at KEMH, Dr. Mahesh Reddy, Dr. Lynette Thomas, Project Action [Mrs. Rose Douglas and Mr. Gerald Burgess], Brothers and Sisters of Masjid Muhammad and Amis Memorial Chapel. A very special thank you to niece and caregiver Alana Shakir.
