Una Leonora Simmons

It is with great sadness, that we announce the passing of Una Leonora Simmons [nee Brown], daughter of the late Annie Catherine Florence Brown [nee Hodsoll] and Egmont Brown; beloved wife of Llewellyn E. [Pete] Simmons, devoted mother to Deborah Seymour [Terry] and Eugene Simmons [Rosie] [Elkridge, Maryland], loving sister to Roseanne Thomas [Baltimore, Maryland], cherished grandmother to, Shantia, Shaynon, Shanyia, Jasmine, Layliana and great-grandson, Armani; former Deputy Principal and Reading Specialist of Paget Primary School, in her 97th year of 107 Spice Hill Road, Warwick.
A celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday, June 11th at The Southampton S.D.A. Church, Middle Road, Southampton at 1:00pm. The Interment will follow the service at St. Mary’s Cemetery, St. Mary’s Road, Warwick. Relatives and friends may pay their last respects at Amis Memorial Chapel, Khyber Pass, Warwick, on Tuesday, June 10th, from 6pm – 7:30pm.
Una is also survived by godchildren, Lauren Bell, Danamarie Smith [Toronto, Canada] and Jordan Baker [Florence, Kentucky]; sisters-in-law, Edrene Malcolm [Huntsville, Alabama], Joice DeShield [Netherlands], Daphne Johnston; nieces, nephews, cousins and relatives of the Brown, Caines, Ming, Hodsoll, Francis, Minors, Jarvis and Crane families. Special friends, Pattie and Harland Landy [Huntsville, Alabama], Sylvia Caines, Cecelia York, Cheryl Outerbridge, Linda Joell-Smith [Georgia, USA], other relatives and friends, too numerous to mention.
Una was predeceased by siblings, Gloria Clary [Bill], Gladwin Brown, Olga Young [Chuck], Egmont [Reggie] Brown [Betty], June Brown, Calvin Brown [Freda], Beulah Washington [Buddy], Winifred Brown; godson, Keith Gibbons, brother-in-law, Dr. Roy Malcolm; Special friends, Florence Hughes, Sheila Johnson, Ursula Hart, Waggoner and Grace Hill.
