Augustus Funeral Home regrets to announce the passing of Vera Francine DeShields.
A Celebration of Life Service honouring Vera DeShields, beloved wife of the late Herman DeShields; daughter of the late Catherine [nee Woodley] and Kenneth Simons; loving mother to Patricia, Herman Jr. [Bouchra], and Vera-Lynn DeShields; and devoted grandmother to Rakeem, Omari and Nahki DeShields in her 83rd Year, of 22 Sylvan Dell, Ord Road, Paget will be held at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Paget on TODAY, February 19th, 2026 at 11am. Interment will follow at St. Pauls Church Cemetery. There will be no viewings.
She is lovingly survived by her sister, Rosalie Lamb [Robert], special nephew and godson, Aaron Foggo; nieces Kitina Simmons [Late] K’la Simmons, and Tinasia Paynter, special cousin Bregeita “Bonnie” Preece; cousins Waverly Harvey, Valerie Lynch, Lionel and Bradlene Thompson, Cromwell Shakir, Marilyn Robinson, Richard, Norman, Anthony, Winston, Colin, Keith, Velma and Esther Woodley; brother-In-Laws Ralph “Jimmy”, Stanley “Bobby”, John, Charles “Joe” and Phillip “Milo” DeShields; sister-In-Laws Claudette DeShields and Ismay Bean; special friends The Christophers, Dills and Smith Families, The St. Paul’s Church Family, The Sylvan Dell Family and The Registry General Family, and numerous other relatives and friends.
