Augustus Funeral Home regrets to announce the passing of Hazel Elizabeth Johnson (nee Thomas) in her 94th year, beloved wife of the late Edward Johnson; daughter of the late Archibald “Chalk” Thomas and the late Berniece “Dolly” Thomas. Loving mother to Gina Kinama (William), Tammy Johnson, and Sherrie “J” Simmons (Jamahl).
The service will be held on Friday, August 7th at St John’s Anglican Church at 2:00 pm. Interment to follow at St John’s cemetery. There will be no viewing.
Hazel Johnson was a devoted grandmother to Kendell Leverock Johnson, Merissa Leverock Johnson, Stephen Antoine Symons II, and Nasir-Allah Simmons; Cherished Great-grandmother to Jaylon Leverock Johnson, Kenyonna Foster, Zaniah Johnson, Naeshaun Johnson, Jaymani Martinez, Jaysion Martinez, Daivion Batista, and Nova Reed; Treasured Aunt to Larry Thomas, Calsworth “Cal” Grimes, Beverly-Ann Bean, David-Vernon Bean, Vanessa Bean, along with numerous other nieces and nephews; Special cousin to Willard “Pommy” Lightbourne (deceased), Alice Ming, Morris Thomas, Karen Dill (deceased) Clarence Dill, Paulette Simmons, Kenneth “Pop” Simmons (deceased), Kevin “Mannix” Simmons, Kalvin Simmons, and Kervin Simmons; and loving sister to Ernest Thomas (deceased), Lionel Thomas (deceased), Earlston Thomas (deceased), June Dillas (deceased), Joyce Washington (deceased), and Lucille Thomas (deceased).
