It is with sadness that our family announces the transition of our dear Darlene Eugenie Emery [nee Bascome], aged 72. Beloved wife of Stephen Wayne Jimmy Emery of “BrenAlysa” 17 Wellington Back Road, St. Georges. She was the only daughter of the late Warren & Marion Bascome and only sibling to brother late Warren McNeil “Mackie” Bascome. Surviving are her loving children Brendan Emery and Alyssa Emery Mackay [Paul] and cherished Nana to Julian “JuJu” Whorms and Piper Marion Mackay; special cousins Greta “Rita” Bullen, Dr. Terrylynne Emery, and Valerie Smith Pethen; only Uncle Pastor Cecil Pulley [Senior] and only nephew McLorn “Mackie” Crane. Other relatives include Cora Rayner, Sandra Scott, Marcelle Williams [Michael], Deborah Darrell [Gladwin], Marion Weller [Gary]; Seth and Richard Pulley and Victor York and their families. Dear friends C. Brother-in-law Gilbert Emery [USA]. Special nieces and nephew Stephanie Talbot, Erike Madiro [Dr. John], Jenay Smith [Wayne] and Damon Emery. Goddaughter Dr. Dana Selassie. Member of AKA Sorority Inc., Berkley Institute Class of 1970, and Centenary United Methodist Church member. Darlene will be deeply missed by her extended family and friends too numerous to mention.
A Homegoing service for Darlene Eugenie Emery will be held at Christ Church Devonshire today, Friday, May 8th, 2026, at 11:00 am. Viewing will be held at Christ Church Devonshire on Friday May 8th, 2026, from 10:00 am-10:50am. There will be no Interment. Live stream will be on www.youtube.com/jrocbda.
