[AMIS Memorial Chapel & Crematory]

The Memorial Service for Edwin Algernon Joseph Richardson, aka Smokey, will be held on June 20, 2026 at the Beulah Tabernacle, 4 Beulah Lane, Scotts Hill Road, Sandys at 2 p.m.

He was the loving son of the late Cecil Clyde and the late Albertha Virginia (Proctor) Richardson. He was proud father to Lemuel Weeks (Liverpool, UK) and adoring Papa to his grands, Kweli (Bermuda), Laseanna, Solo, Sole and Loyal Weeks (Liverpool, UK). Brother to the late Quinton Edwards, the late Leroy Vincent Proctor and Ishmael Israel (Laurence Richardson) – (Manchester, UK). He is lovingly remembered by his nieces, nephews, and cousins of his Proctor, Richardson, Manders and Bremar families in Bermuda and his Walker family in Boston. The family would like to thank the Caregiving Team and staff of Humber River Health Hospital, RCC, Toronto Finch; and give bountiful thanks to his most treasured friends in Toronto who were by his side and supported him through everything – Steve Raiman, Debbie Danbrook, Greg Danbrook and friends, and to the House of Moses in Kensington Market.

He will also be remembered by his many friends, colleagues and neighbours, BTC, Bermuda Triangle Crafts group, Dockyard family, cruise ship passengers – too numerous to mention in Bermuda, Boston, Tanzania and Toronto. Smokey walked this life peaceful and chilled, happily beating to his own drum. He loved to dabble in all things cultural/historical and loved music and travel.

Internment to follow at the St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 45 Somerset Road, Sandys. Colours may be worn. The service will be live streamed via twitch.tv/jroctv2000.
