Augustus Funeral Home regrets to announce the passing of Mary Eileen Smith (Aunt Mary) (nee Gibbons).
A Celebration of Life Service for Mary Eileen Smith (Aunt Mary) (nee Gibbons), in her 94th year, of 26 Cottage Hill West, Hamilton Parish, CR02. Wife of the late Daniel ‘Joe’ Smith and daughter of the late Ethered and Frances ‘Dolly’ Outerbridge Gibbons, she was the devoted mother to Jocene Wade, Adele, Chris (Rhonda Woods), and Andrew (Patrice Astwood) Smith will be held on June 20th, 2026, 2:00 pm at St. John’s AME Church, 41 Wilkinson Ave, Bailey’s Bay, Hamilton Parish. Interment will follow at Holy Trinity Church, Bailey’s Bay.
There will be no viewing.
Mary Eileen (Aunt Mary) is survived by her grandchildren; Richelene, Seon, Qurnna, Christina (Omar), Melissa, Zephyra, Kyon, Richard Jr., Kejon, Geordal, Dion (Nicole), Christino, Tahkeison, Neikori, Tahnaesha and Chrysda. 17 Great grandchildren and 6 Great greatgrandchildren. Sister in law: Althea Green, Brother in law: Melvin Somner, Daughter-in-law: Deborah Gibbons, Godchildren: Herman ‘Butch’ Smith, Deborah Hayward and Dawnette Lewis, numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and special friends; Berniece Smith, Ann Beach, Hattianne Gilbert, Jeanette Griffith, St Lukes AME Church Family, Smily Glee and Joy Club (Seniors).
Mary was predeceased by husband Daniel ‘Joe’ Smith, sons: Richard Gibbons Snr. and Brian Smith, Grandson: Kyle Smith; Brothers: Claude (Pauline), Ewing ‘Bob’ (Peggy), Kenneth ‘Bozo’ (Evangeline) and Gary ‘Booche (Shirley) Gibbons. Sisters: Winifred (Harley) Outerbridge, Dorothy ‘Dot’ (Anderson) Ince, Enda (Clinton) Gibbons, Edith (Burnell) Trott, Angeline (Edbert) Outerbridge, Cora (Alexander) Douglas, Vera Proctor, June Wilmot and Greta Somner.
