Bulley-Graham-Rawlins Funeral Home regrets to announce the passing of Roberta Jeanne Schultz Mosher – daughter of Margaret & Victor Schultz, born in Gloversville, New York, on May 3rd, 1947, where she lived with her parents and two brothers – Roddy and Gordon Schultz attended Fulton Montgomery College and Oneota State College for a BA degree. She also studied at the Maryland Institute College of Art in the early 1970s prior to teaching for the US Department of School Systems at Chaffee Elementary School from 1976 to its closure in 1995.
Roberta worked at Masterworks in the early 2000s where she was an art teacher, inspiring many youngsters and in summer camp programs for the “Art on the Gogh” program. At Harrington Primary School, not only did she teach art – but also found herself thrilled by the speciality program called Reading Recovery, whereby she coached early aged children to catch up and re-entered mainstream reading levels in the classroom. It was in that role where she felt she made her most significant professional contribution to the community.
In her personal life, she married Vaughn Benedict Mosher in Boston in 1972 and, in the 54-year marriage, KEMH Maternity Ward welcomed Alexandra and Reid to the world in the 1980s – thus providing her greatest joy in life. She has been fondly remembered by hundreds of children – now adults – who would stop her on the street and ask if she remembered them and tell her their story of her impact on them. She lived in gratitude for the abundance in her life.
A private memorial service will be held.
