Nahki Wells: ‘I’ll Prove Carlisle Wrong’
Bermudian striker Nahki Wells has told a Cumbrian newspaper today [May 10] he will return to England in the next football season and prove Carlisle United wrong.
Mr. Wells said he was hindered at Brunton Park by the lack of regular reserve team football and because he was playing out of position.
“I made three appearances but I wasn’t playing in the right position, and I don’t believe Carlisle saw the best of me,” Mr. Wells told the “News & Star.”
“It was definitely a great experience though, to be a professional footballer, train everyday and travel the country. I love England. Without a doubt I’ll be back in six week’s time for pre-season.
“I really enjoyed my time at Carlisle and I’m thankful for the opportunity they gave me, but I know I have other options and I’m almost guaranteed [a contract] at another pro club.”
Carlisle boss Greg Abbott has spoken highly of Mr. Wells, saying the young Bermuda international would likely go on to a career in English football whether his club signed him or not.
