Football: Premier & Corona League Results

Football action on Friday night [Oct 5], saw the Wolves and Flanagan’s Onions play to a scoreless draw in the Premier Division, while Tuff Dogs defeated Lock N Key and Flanagan’s Onions won over Lobster Pot in the Corona League.

Premier Division: Wolves 0 – Flanagan’s Onions 0

The two teams that were promoted in the 2011/12 season met in a Premier Division top of the table clash at the Devonshire Rec. Both teams remain undefeated following a scoreless draw, both team created chances however in the end it ended scoreless.

Corona League: Tuff Dogs 3 – Lock N Key 1

The defending League Champions Tuff Dogs defeated Lock N Key 3-1 in the 2012 Corona League Season kick-off. Tuff Dogs took the lead after Lamual Crofton crossed the ball for Justin Robinson to tap into an open net. Minutes before the half time break a cross from time Kenny Outerbridge found Kevin Hurdle in the box.

Hurdle drilled a fierce shot which left the keeper with no chance. Lock N Key with National Squad player Antwan Russell in the lineup pulled one back soon after the restart when Quincy Jones out jumped the Tuff Dogs defense to squeeze in a header in the near post. Crofton put the game out of reach in the dying moments when he calmly beat the keeper off a Hurdle pass.

Corona League: Flanagan’s Onions – 2 Lobster Pot 1

In the nightcap Gary McRobert scored two penalties to lead the Flanagan’s Onions to a 2 – 1 win over Lobster Pot. Sekai Waldron scored the lone goal for Lobster Pot.
