Basketball: Dragons, Rim Rockers Claim Wins
A double header took place in Bermuda Basketball Elite Premier Division inside the Somersfield Academy Gymnasium on Saturday evening [Jan 12].
In the first game of the evening, the Devonshire Dragons defeated the Hamilton Tsunamis 56 – 47.
John Lee led the Devonshire Dragons to victory with 19 points, while Kevin Stevens scored a game high 29 points for the Hamilton Tsunamis.
Chris Crumpler scored a game high 34 points in the second hame to lead the Warwick Rim Rockers to a 68 – 66 win over the Smith’s Wildcats in an overtime thriller.
Derek Lindo hit a game winning shot in overtime as time expired, handing the Smith’s Wildcats their first defeat in two seasons. Steven Simons scored 21 points for the Smiths Wildcats.
