Results: Women’s Futsal & Corona League
The Women’s Futsal League continued their season inside the Dellwood Middle School Gymnasium on Saturday [Feb 16] with three games being played. The North Village Lady Rams, Dandy Stars Gold and Somerset Hurricanes all defeated their respective opponents.
At the BAA field, two Corona League games took place and saw North Village Rams defeat Lobster Pot while Flanagan’s Onions shut out BAA.
Women’s Futsal League
Dandy Stars Brown 5 North Village Lady Rams 9
This game saw the young Dandy Stars Brown team give the North Village Lady Rams all they could handle with some superb defensive and offensive play. At half-time the score was tied 4 to 4, however in the second half the North Village Lady Rams demonstrated their experience pulling ahead to win 9 to 5.
Kyla Ramatar led all scorers with a fantastic performance for North Village Lady Rams scoring 6 goals. Leanne Yates, Leilanni Nesbeth and Tamisha Darrell all added a goal each. Leah Smith was outstanding for Dandy Stars Brown scoring a hat trick while Zahra Gibbons scored twice.
Dandy Stars Gold 10 Hamilton Parish 0
Despite the score Hamilton Parish had chances but could not manage to find a way through the Dandy Stars Gold defence. In the first half Parish were competitive holding their opponents to only 3 goals. However, in the second-half Dandy Stars Gold attackers were relentless scoring 7 goals to easily win the game.
Precious Cooper and Atiya Symonds had strong performances for the winners scoring 4 goals each while Cleshaunay Darrell Virgil and Alexis Trott added a goal each.
Young Men Social Club Lady Bluebirds 1 Somerset Hurricanes 7
Another improved performance by Young Men Social Club Lady Bluebirds as the Somerset Hurricanes took some time to settle into the game but by half-time were leading 5 to 0. The second-half proved better for the Young Men Social Club Lady Bluebirds allowing only 2 goals.
KyAnne Scott prevented the shut out by scoring 1 goal for Young Men Social Club Lady Bluebirds. Eva Frazzoni led the way again for the Somerset Hurricanes scoring a hat trick. Deshae Darrell also had a good game with 2 goals while Sierra Fisher and Kayla Corday added a goal each.
Corona League
North Village Rams 3 Lobster Pot 2
The North Village Rams defeated Lobster Pot 3 – 2. The North Village Rams got goals from Kofi Dill, Omar Ray and Matthew Madeiros, while Jeff Bevan and Alessio Bellisomi scored for Lobster Pot.
Flanagan’s Onions 11 BAA 0
Gary McRobert led the way for the Flanagan’s Onions scoring six times in their 11 – 0 win over BAA. Stephen Woodward scored a hat-trick while Rob Livingston and Dave Martin added a goal each.
