Lisa Leslie To Speak At Bermuda Sports Expo
Lisa Leslie — a 4-time Olympic medalist and the first woman to slam-dunk in a professional basketball game — will be the guest speaker at the Women In Sports Expo scheduled for Saturday April 27th at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess.
Bermuda National Athletics Association President Donna Watson said, “We are extremely excited to announce that Lisa Leslie has agreed to come to Bermuda and be the Guest Speaker at the Banquet.”
The event also now has a Sponsor as Argus has been announced as the title sponsor of the event.
Leslie, speaking via phone during the press conference today, said, “I am looking forward to coming to Bermuda and sharing my experience with the people of Bermuda. I am grateful that I have had this invitation extended to me and I can’t wait to get there.”
The 6’5″ Leslie is a three-time WNBA MVP and a four-time Olympic gold medal winner. She made seven WNBA All-Star appearances, was named MVP three times, and won two WNBA championships over the course of eleven seasons with the Los Angeles Sparks, before retiring in 2009.
