Saracens Rugby Club Team Arrive In Bermuda
The Saracens Rugby Club team arrived in Bermuda last night [May 27] from the UK. Saracens, England’s #1 Rugby team, will be in Bermuda from May 27th – June 2nd to work in the community with the Beyond Rugby and Family Centre charities. In addition to other fundraising events, they will play a match against a Bermuda International Select XV.
The 35 Saracens players, coaches and support staff will be joined by another 15 International players who will arrive over the next few days to make up an International select team, that will also include Bermudian players, for a match on Friday, May 31st.
More than 50 corporate guests, club supporters and fans are also expected to come to the island for the Game.
One of the top premiership rugby teams in the UK, the Saracens have chosen Bermuda to tour as a part of their community outreach programme, helping promote the game of rugby to young people and raising funds for the local Beyond Rugby Charity.
The Atlantic Cup, which will be held on Friday, May 31, 6:30pm at the National Sports Centre has been put up for the tour by the local organizers, David Tucker and Gareth Nokes and it is hoped that this will become an annual event on our sports tourism calendar.

Total Rugby, a major Rugby TV series in the UK, that reaches over 200 million homes worldwide, has come to the island to follow the Saracens tour and will be doing a program that highlights not only the team but Bermuda as well.
Fairmont Hamilton Princess is the host hotel for the team.
Team currently camped outside the Beach with lots of empties – good to see they aren’t taking it too seriously, and its a proper tour.
