Eastern Counties Relay Classic Race On Sunday
The third annual Eastern Counties Relay Classic road race will be held on Sunday morning [Jan 25] with competitors getting started at 8.30am from Flatts Field and the finish line welcoming the teams at St David’s County Cricket Club.
The route follows along Harrington Sound Road to Cleveland County Club where the first handover takes place. The second leg continues along Harrington Sound Road to Wilkinson Avenue and on to the Baileys Bay Club where the second handover occurs.
The runners leave Ducks Puddle Drive heading down Blue Hole Hill onto the causeway and continue on to St. David’s Road where the third handover takes place just before Stokes Point.
The final leg runners will head to St. David’s County Cricket Club turning right onto Southside Road, to Pepper Hall Road, on to St. David’s Road, Great Bay Road and continue to the finish line at St. David’s County Cricket Club.
Race numbers should be picked up today [Jan 24] between 12:00 noon and 3pm at the Harrington Workmen’s Club. Late registration will only be accepted at number pickup and will attract an additional $5 fee. There will be no late entries on race day.
An awards and medal presentation will take place right after the completion of the race. Medals will be awarded for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place male team, female team, mixed team and youth team. An award for 1st place Eastern Counties Cricket Association Member Club Team will also be presented.
