U.S. Consulate & HRC To Screen “Big Dream”

March 5, 2016

On March 8, to celebrate International Women’s Day, the U.S. Consulate and the Bermuda Human Rights Commission will be screening the documentary film, “Big Dream,” produced by The Big Dream Movement.

The film is the story of seven young women from around the world who are defeating barriers and overcoming personal obstacles to pursue their dreams in science, technology, engineering and math [STEM] fields.

The 90-minute film, which is free and open to the public, will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 8, at Chubb [formerly ACE], 17 Woodbourne Avenue, Hamilton.

Following the screening, viewers will be able to talk with one of the young women in the film via Skype. As space is limited, please RSVP to blackac@state.gov.

Consul General Mary Ellen Koenig commented, “The Human Rights Commission and the U.S. Consulate are thrilled to be able to show this important and inspirational film.

“We believe it would be of interest particularly to young women, their parents, and educators.  We look forward to welcoming an enthusiastic crowd to the screening, and thank Chubb for donating use of its space and technology.”

The Big Dream Movement helps girls around the world pursue a future in STEM fields. For more information about the Big Dream Movement, see here.
