30-Year-Old Charged With Importing Cocaine
Appearing in Magistrates Court this morning [April 22], a 30-year-old foreign national was remanded in custody after being charged with importing cocaine.
Jamaican national Tyrone Brown was charged with importing 894.6 grams of cocaine into Bermuda in April 2016. The Crown Prosecutor told Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo that the estimated street value, in Bermuda, of the illegal substance was up to some $209,000.
Because the charges are indictable and can only be tried in the Supreme Court, Brown was not required to plead.
With his Bermuda address given as a guesthouse, Mr Brown was ordered to be kept in custody until the May Supreme Court Arraignments.
