Photos: Super-Yacht & Cruise Ship In East End

The east end is welcoming visitors today, with both a cruise ship and a $142 million luxury super-yacht docked in St George’s.

The 665-foot long AIDAvita cruise ship sailed in today carrying an estimated 1172 passengers and 418 crew, marking the second cruise ship visit this year for St George’s.

Also docked in the east end is the 293-foot long Grace E super-yacht, which various online reports indicate is worth some $142 million and may be owned by billionaire Robert Stiller, the founder of the Keurig Green Mountain coffee company.

According to their website, the Grace E commands a charter rate of $735,000 per week in the winter and boasts amenities including seven super-luxurious cabinsa steam sauna, jacuzzi, beauty salon, pool, elevator, a host of luxury jet tenders and full assortment of watertoys and much more.

The website describes the luxury vessel by saying, “Incorporating a dynamic positioning system that allows the yacht to stay in place without dropping anchor, this yacht can cruise in ecologically vulnerable locations such as coral reefs, without damaging the environment.

“Guest deck spaces offer luxurious curved seating cocooned from the elements, and further protection is provided in the form of low-profile transparent windshields.

“Twelve guests have ample space and privacy across five decks, four of which are connected by an elevator. Seven super-luxurious cabins include two VIP suites on the main deck, two double cabins and two twin cabins on the lower deck, all with en suite bathrooms. The spectacular full beam master suite features a beautiful central bath tub and separate his and her shower rooms.”

    Looking up Bermuda!!! Cruise ships abound St George, Hamilton and two in Dockyard. Well done DOT! Who said there were no small cruise ships.
