Man Shot & Man Stabbed On Woodlands Road

[Updating: The police responded to the Woodlands Road area at around 3am this morning, and confirm that a 30-year-old man was shot and a 46-year-old man was stabbed. 

The police subsequently confirmed that the 30-year-old male shooting victim has died.

The police said it is “currently unclear whether the shooting victim and stabbing victim‎ were involved in the same incident or separate incidents.”

There was a shooting in the Woodlands Road area in Pembroke at sometime around 3.00am this morning [June 20] and initial suggestions are that someone may have been injured.

The police are on scene, and crime scene tape is visible. There was an event taking place in the area, so some people can be seen gathered. Further details are limited at this time, however we will update as able.

Update 4.29am: Police confirm that they responded at 2.55am this morning, and said a 30-year-old man was shot, and they have also confirmed that a 46-year-old man was stabbed.

Both are being treated at the hospital and their “conditions are unknown.” While the police confirmed that two men were injured, they said they “cannot say whether those incidents are related.”

Update 4.41am: A police spokesperson said, “Around 2:55am on Monday, June 20th police and first responders were dispatched to a report of a male with gunshot wounds in the Woodlands Road, Pembroke area near DeSilva Close.

“On arrival at the scene a 30 year old male shooting victim was located, as‎ well as a 46 year old male stabbing victim.

“Both were taken to hospital via ambulance for treatment of their injuries.‎ Their conditions are unknown at this time. An update on the victims will be given in due course.

“It is currently unclear whether the shooting victim and stabbing victim‎ were involved in the same incident or separate incidents.

“Police are appealing for witnesses that were in the Woodlands Road area or leaving the nearby function at BAA around 3am Monday to contact Acting Inspector Kenten Trott at the Serious Crime Unit on 717-2345 or the confidential Crime Stoppers hotline on 800-8477.”

Update 4.45am: There is a police presence at the hospital, which is not unusual after a shooting, when police can often be seen at KEMH.

Update 8.32am: A police spokesperson said, “The 30 year old male shooting victim has succumbed to his injuries at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

“No further information regarding the deceased will be given until next of kin have been notified.

“The 46 year old‎ male stabbing victim continues to receive treatment for his injuries at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

“‎Witnesses that can assist the investigation are once again urged to contact Acting Inspector Kenten Trott on 717-2345 or the confidential Crime Stoppers hotline 800-8477.”

Update 2.06pm: Murder of  Fiqre Crockwell

A police spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Police Service extends condolences to the family and friends of 30 year old Fiqre Crockwell, who was shot in the Woodlands Road, Pembroke area around 2:55am Monday June 20th and later succumbed to his injuries at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

“Mr. Crockwell’s death marks the second gun murder of 2016. A Family Liaison Officer has been assigned to assist the Crockwell family at this difficult time.

“Detectives from the Serious Crime Unit continue their investigation into this fatal shooting and any witnesses or persons with information regarding suspicious individuals or vehicles in the Woodlands Road, Pembroke area near DeSilva Close around 2:55am Monday should contact Acting Detective Inspector Kenten Trott at the Serious Crime Unit on 717-2345 or the confidential and anonymous Crime Stoppers hotline 800-8477.

46 Year Old Pembroke Man Recovering From Stabbing

“At last check the 46 year old Pembroke man found stabbed in the Woodlands Road, Pembroke area also around 2:55am Monday, June 20th was recovering in stable condition at the hospital from injuries that are apparently non-life threatening.

“Likewise, detectives from the Serious Crime Unit continue their investigation into the circumstances surrounding this stabbing and any witnesses or persons with information should contact Acting Detective Inspector Kenten Trott at the Serious Crime Unit on 717-2345 or the confidential and anonymous Crime Stoppers hotline 800-8477.”
